Quality Assurance Royal Conservatoire
The Royal Conservatoire is recognised both nationally and internationally as a leading institute where education, research and production are woven together in an organic fashion. The Royal Conservatoire expressly manifests itself as an institute where tradition, the contemporary and the experimental play a role, and through which an open relationship is established with the constantly changing demands of the profession. Via a balanced and strongly individual study trajectory this approach makes it possible to provide students with sufficient baggage to be able to participate in the multi-faceted, dynamic world of culture and the arts.
The competences developed during the courses allow graduates not only to find their way in the profession, but also form a solid basis for further growth as professionals and for contributing to development in the fields in which they find themselves. Graduates find work with orchestras, ensembles, schools, conservatoires, centres for arts education, theatre companies, opera, radio, tv, etc., take part in productions (music-theatre, film etc.), initiate their own multimedia and sometimes pioneering projects, or start their own businesses (recording studios, private music schools etc.).
It is the responsibility of the RC to keep a close watch on the relationship between education and study options on the one side, and the various aspects of the profession of tomorrow in which the students of today will find themselves. An essential question in this regard is if the various curricula and the facilities still meet the demands that the RC sets for itself, and/or which arise in the professional world.
The strengthening of our position as a quality institute in an international context is the challenge for the coming years, and it is for this reason that we are paying attention to the aspects of quality which we represent in a systematic and structural way. The quality assurance which we have in mind, offers an excellent opportunity to improve further on the quality which we already provide.
